LIB reported earlier that the 22-year-old 100-level student of the University of Benin, Edo State was raped and killed while reading in a church in Benin city.

Spokesman of Edo police command, Chidi Nwabuzor confirmed the arrest while speaking to newsmen. He said the suspect was arrested after the deceased was rushed to the hospital and the fingerprint on the fire extinguisher she was attacked with was examined.

Nwabuzor said the suspect was apprehended after the Area Commander of Ikpoba Hill mobilized his men to take action.

What if she was killed because she discovered a deadly secret, involving a prominent leader or member of the Church in the dead of the night, within the Church premises?

Another discovery there is the number of books she went with to the Church. I can count up to 9 books on the floor. Did she went with all those books to read at once that night?

The police should also check to know if those books belong to her.

Two months ago, a young lady reached out to our organization and in her voice, the fear and anxiety was inevitable. I will keep her anonymous for now to protect her identity until justice is achieved. The perpetrator will not be granted anonymity because the goal is to call out for his immediate arrest and detainment, and also create a public awareness on his actions.

Her story:
I had met him in my sister’s school where he was a student at the Imo State Polytechnic. He asked me out and we started dating. He was a gentle man from the beginning and it didn’t take me long enough to fall heads over in love. For him, I did anything and everything. I did not keep anything from him, my email account details, my social media information, and even my banking information, including my BVN, and one day I gave him my ATM to withdraw my money for us while I was at his place. That was how much I trusted him and expressed all the love my heart could not contain.

Months into the relationship, I discovered something that shook me out of place. He was using my email account to conduct online scam and robbing monies off foreign citizens, and in addition to that, he was a member of the cult in his school that has been involved in several cases of injustices against female students. The biggest shocker was that he had sex videos of his ex-girlfriends on his phone and I observed him threaten them with the video occasionally. I knew I was in trouble and I should run really fast.

I started to feel afraid and anxiety attacks and decided to confront him, hoping that somehow, there would be an explanation that reduces my fear or help assure me that I was wrong or dreaming. I asked him questions about the online scam and the school cultism, and he suddenly became violent, and hit me so hard I could not breathe. He pushed me off and said I should mind my business. From that day of confrontation, he started to hit me more and accuse me of not minding my business.

I decided to end the relationship, even though I knew he was still using my email account. I decided I will create another email account and social media. I wanted to just focus on my studies and heal from the relationship, but to my greatest shock, I got an immediate debit alerts from my account (just seconds, after my school fees was sent) and in the blink of an eyes, all my school fees was gone. My account was empty. I thought I would die. I started to cry and scream and roll on the floor.
The school fees were due for that week and I had just received it from my parents who sell small provisions to ensure I go to school. I rushed to the bank and they printed my bank statement (they were convinced that I withdrew the money by myself because of the BVN authorization). To my utmost shock, my bank statement showed his name. He withdrew all my 67,000 Naira.
My bank said I should request for a new ATM, and to make the request, I had to put in one thousand naira into my account to activate it and I did, but immediately he saw the 1000 naira, he took it out of my account. I felt helpless and afraid. I started to call him to cry and ask him to please return my money. I told him I would drop out of school if I can’t pay my tuition. I told him I wouldn’t mention to anyone that he was manipulating the other girl. I told him I will not say a word about his involvement with the cult or his online scam, but he started to threaten my family and me. My parents got to know about it and my father started to cry after he sent some thugs to harass my both parent in their shop.
I dropped out of school. We became silent because of fear.
I fear for my life, I fear for my parents. I fear for the school I never completed. My email accounts is still being used. My BVN had been used to lend money from online loaners and I know that I am the next girl on the list. I want Nigeria to help me. I want NGOs to help me. Please.

An Indonesian woman shocked doctors when she gave birth to a ‘cyclops’ baby with one eye – but sadly lost her seven hours later.

Atana Ariyanto and his wife Suriyanti from Java island welcomed their fifth child, a girl, at the Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Hospital of Mandailing Natal district in North Sumatra on Thursday afternoon through a natural birth.

But the baby, who weighed 5lbs, was born with only one eye in the middle of her forehead and a missing nose, although her other organs were complete.

Suriyanti hadn’t undergone an ultrasound and was so shocked to see her daughter that she, along with her husband, shut herself away in the room.

Doctors had put the baby under intensive care where a team of medical staff monitored her condition every 15 minutes, but she tragically passed away at 10.44pm the same night.

Dr Syarifuddin Nasution, head of the Mandailing Natal District Health Office said: “The baby girl was born in a condition of abnormalities.

“We had to put the oxygen hose from the mouth because there was no nose,”

The doctor said babies with these conditions are usually born by caesarean section.

In general, such babies experience respiratory problems and heartburn because their heart rate is below 100 per minute.

Dr Syarifuddin Nasution added: “This is a very rare case.

“If her condition had improved, we would have referred her to Medan but we were aware the baby had a very short life expectancy.”

Dr Syarifuddin suspect the cause of the baby’s disabilities was mercury exposure and the Rubella virus.

The parents live in the Kayu Jati village, Panyabungan City District where they work in one of the mines.

Dede Koswara passed away in the Hasan Sadikin hospital in Badung, Indonesia, on the morning of January 30. Koswara suffered from Lewandowsky-Lutz dysplasia, which results in uncontrolled human papilloma virus (HPV) infections and the growth of scaly warts resembling tree bark.

The disease was so severe Koswara’s hands and feet were covered with more than 13lbs of warts, also called “cutaneous horns”.

The severity of his condition gave him international notoriety – including several feature-length documentaries highlighting his plight.

The warts were debilitating, preventing the proper use of his hands and feet – and were believed locally to have been the result of a curse. His wife of ten years also left him after he couldn’t support them and their two children. In 2008, Koswara had 13lb (6kg) of warts surgically removed from his body. The operation was such a success that he could play Sudoku and wear flip-flops.

But the growths continued to return, requiring two surgeries a year to keep the infections down. Koswara died of a complicated series of health problems, including hepatitis, liver and gastric disorders, according to one of the doctors treating him. Three months before he died he was checked into hospital. His doctor said: ‘He was resigned to his illness. He must’ve been pretty tough to face all the insults he suffered over the years,’ his doctor said.

She added that Dede remained estranged from his family up until his death – but according to those treating him, he never gave up hope of a cure.

“Dede wanted to recover, despite his disease,” his nurse said.

“He was coping with his illness, even though people despised him as someone cursed

He was bored, resting in bed in the hospital, and often smoked to pass the time.

Don’t use them if you know that you’re allergic to ginger or any ingredients contained in them. And if you must use them you should be very careful with the amount you consume. 

If ginger is being taken in, in powdered form. It may adversely affect patients with gallstones, and may easily interfere with the actual effects of anticoagulants, such as aspirin and warfarin.

And the evidence that ginger helps to prevent nausea and vomiting as a result of pregnancy or chemotherapy is factly not consistent. Although there has been no sure evidence of harm when a pregnant woman takes ginger during her pregnancy, but its safety is dully undefined as well. Ginger is not effective for treating dysmenorrhea too. 

Why not take away the risk when it’s avoidable, and if you must eat garlic and ginger eat responsibly. 

1) Use of ginger, garlic, clove and turmeric: You can cleanse your system using these kitchen spices. Wash them properly. After washing you peel off their back. Then cut them into small small pieces. When you’re done with that, get a neat bottle of distilled water. Pour the diced ginger, garlic, clove and tumeric into the bottle. Allow it to stay for a minimum of three days in order for fermentation to take place. Then when this is done, shake very well and take three shots a day.

2) Use of bitter leaf: Bitter leaf goes a long way in cleansing not only your reproductive system but also your whole body. The leaf just like the name implies is very bitter. It can be washed and eaten raw for those who can stand the bitter taste. In a situation where one can’t withstand it’s bitter taste, squeeze the leaf to extract it’s bitter juice. Then add little water and drink, once a day. This works very well. It stimulates ovulation and even helps to check your blood sugar level.

3) Use of scent leaf: Get a pot of water, then add your scent leaf. You don’t need to wash it. Then boil for ten to fifteen minutes. Allow it to cool. Pour the warm water into a cup and drink. You can do this twice a day.

4) Get rid of too much sugar in your diet: Too much sugar affects your reproductive system. The prove is that those that consume excess sugar tend to have a more painful period. Also excess sugar may lead to early menopause. Our aged mothers reached up to fifty or more years before menopause set in. But these days, you will see a woman barely forty years of age and menopause is already knocking. The only difference between these women is diet. Change your diet, eat more healthy, take enough fruit and vegetables and eliminate excess sugar.

5) Regular steaming: Steaming simply involves sitting on top of hot water for three to five minutes. Get scent leaf, bitter leaf and little salt. Put all of them into a bucket of hot but not very hot water to avoid burning yourself. Sit on top of it for five to ten minutes. Do this three to four times a week. This helps to cleanse your system.

6) Use of gauva leaf: Get guava leaf. Air dry it, not sun dry. After that, put the dried leaf into a pot of water, then allow it to boil. Allow it to cool, pour into a cup and drink, once a day.

7) Use of moringa seed: Moringa is highly medicinal and that includes the leaf. Just take the seeds, chew and swallow.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has reacted to a viral video in which a Nigerian man was brutally beaten to death in India.

The Nigerian businessman popularly called Sunny Mike, was beaten to death on Wednesday 27th May, in Palam, New Delhi.

It was said that Sunny Mike was accused of stealing by an Indian lady, which drew the attention of passersby who brutally beat him up till he passed out.

the time the Indian police arrived the scene, the Nigerian businessman was already dead. His corpse was immediately moved to the morgue.

Friends and family members however started a protest on social media, demanding justice.

The Nigerian Government reacted to the death of Sunny Mike, through the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), saying that their attention has been drawn to a viral video where a Nigerian was brutally beaten up in Delhi, India.

They also added that the Nigerian mission in India is aware and are currently investigating the circumstances, calling on Nigerians in India to be calm as the Mission is aware.
