Post-COVID-19: Presidency releases Buhari’s plans for Nigeria
The Presidency has released the actions and measures being taken by President Muhammadu Buhari to reduce the suffering of Nigerians after the COVID-19 pandemic.
In an article on Thursday by Femi Adesina, the President’s Spokesman noted that Buhari is focusing on the future.
“There is global anxiety on what the future holds for humanity post-COVID-19, particularly in respect of the economy, healthcare, job security, and general wellbeing,” he said.

A Federal High Court in Asaba has awarded N10m in damages against the Department of State Services for illegally detaining a trader, Anthony Okolie, for 10 weeks without charge.
Justice Nnamdi Dimgba, however, struck out the prayer requesting the President’s daughter, Hanan Buhari, and telecoms company, MTN, to pay N500m.
Herdsmen Attack Motorcyclist, Steal Bike In Ondo
Daniel James, a commercial motorcycle rider otherwise known as “Okada”, has been attacked by armed hoodlums suspected to be Fulani herdsmen in Ondo State.
James was attacked along Imafon Road, in Akure North Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday in the course of carrying out his job.
The 24-year-old motorcycle rider was rushed to the Police Clinic in Akure, the state capital, after the attack and is currently receiving treatment.

3 men walk away unscathed as container fall on their car in Apapa
Three unidentified men walked away unscathed after being involved in an accidentwhich involved a car they were travelling in and a container carrying goods.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred at Liverpool in Apapa, Lagos. An ecstatic social media user who shared a videofrom the scene of the incident showed off the mangled car which the container fell on.

N4.3bn which was kept in a secret account for more than 10 years has been uncovered by the Ondo state government.
Ondo Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Donald Ojogo confirmed this in a statement released on Thursday, May 14.
He said the money which was uncovered due to the discrete financial intelligence of the Commissioner for Finance Mrr. Wale Akinterinwa, was lodged in a third-generation bank without due process for over 10 years ago.

Recovered coronavirus patients in Nigeria surpass 1,000
The number of Nigerians who have recovered from COVID-19 has exceeded the 1,000 mark, as more people are being discharged across the country.
As of May 12, the Nigeria Centre Disease Control (NCDC) noted that a total of 959 people who earlier tested positive for COVID-19 had recovered fully from the disease.
Following the latest update from NCDC on Wednesday, May 13, Nigeria’s recovery figure rose to 1,070 after 111 patients were discharged from various treatment centres across the country.
